This is really very nice, Ray. You do some fine work.
Which of the methods do you use for the color?

Thanks Marty for the kind words.....always appreciated and encouraging.

For the colourisation I do not use the popular worth treatment. (I have not tried it yet)

I create layers above the original image and set the mode to colour. I then paint each part of the image on its own layer.

This means that you can add layer adjustments to each layer i.e. hue/saturation, levels, curves, etc....

It does create big files but that is ok because you have full control of each element of the image.

That is my way which may not be the correct or best means of colourisation.

If you try it and have any problems please let me know and I am always happy to try to help.

Kind regards

Ray

Thanks for the feedback, Ray. I've only done a few colorizations. My approach has been to use a string of Hue/Sat layers above the image, each set to its colorize mode, and paint the masks to introduce color. Sort of similar to your approach -- but I suspect that yours enables finer control of the results. Thinking back, I believe that Chip Springer is responsible for steering me to my approach.

Anyway Ray, thanks again for your info. I'll probably try your approach next time.

Best,
Marty
