This is what came from messing around with buzz, cspringers contrast mask action and some smudging
and it was a heck of a lot faster than straight smudging

A different look...

You're messing with buzz and contrast mask. I've been messing with Topaz Simplify. These methods lead to some non-traditional looking smudges. But, if they satisfy an artistic impulse in the painter and create one in the viewer -- then who cares how they're made?

Nice work, Palms!

Works for me.

Best,
Marty
