Hi guys, this is my first post on this forum.
thanks lamar for recomending it :)

I've been smudging for a month or so, 3 days ago I bought a wacom bamboo and I can't stop smudging!!

here's one I recently made with gimp, I originally posted this on dpreview, and then thought about posting it on this forum too.

so here it goes:

Nice work on this. I would probably take it a little further and reduce some of the areas of over-sharpening and perhaps resmudge some of the areas of the hair. You're definitely getting off to a good start!

yup, now that I see it more carefully, I notice un-smudged zones, and you are right about the oversharpened areas, I think I was too excited to post it quickly hehe.

thanks for the comments.

Let me start by saying, that is pretty good for someone who's only been doing this for such a short time. I know when I got my tablet, my hobby turned into an obsession. I don't know enough about Gimp but with PS one of my first steps is to lighten the image. I do alot of prep work before I start smudging. Thank you for sharing this image. Here is my version.

OBTW, the "obsession" only gets worse
Blessings,

Definitely nice for starting out. It takes practice and it is a lot of fun. A very nice subject to work on.
