Double Delight

Needed a change of pace after my "Texas Mom" smudges.
Found the original of this image early this year at DPR. Don't recall the original poster's name.

The original image is 4500 pixels wide, giving an area about 20 times the area of this one. I can post 100% crops if desired.

Marty,
very clean and painterly even at this reduced size. I also like your pink/white combo in the background and the way you subtly highlighted each of the girls with the soft white shading.

absolutely delightful Marty As Patre has said the background works very well including the shadows
if poss i would like a close up of their faces (only so i can see how you worked round the glasses :) )

Patre and Palms, thank you for your generous comments. I appreciate them very much.

Here are a couple of 100% crops. All the flaws are now revealed :) :) .

Thanks for posting the close ups Marty , the work with the glasses is great, any ones i have done, have been a struggle with flare or a milky look from the lens

Nice work! I especially like the way you worked their hair. I always have trouble there and the hair is always such an important part of these. I think it can make or break the whole portrait.

Thank you, Nancy. Ths time I tried a lower opacity on Scott's hair brush. I usually use 70 or 80 %. I think I used 50% or lower for these kids' hair.

Looking at them again, I think I probably used the rough round bristle brush rather than Scott's hair brush. Sorry for the uncertainty, but it has been a while since I smudged this one :) .

Best,
Marty
